Terms of use
What this service is, what it is not, and the few things we ask of you. Nothing here is a surprise, because there is very little for terms to govern when no file ever reaches us.
Who owns the files I open here?
You do, and we never receive them. Your document is read and written by your browser, so no ownership, licence or right in it passes to us — there is nothing for such a clause to attach to. The privacy policy sets out exactly what does and does not leave your device, and the how it works page tells you how to check it yourself.
Is the output guaranteed to be correct?
No. The tools are provided as they are, without a warranty that a given document will compress, convert, repair or sign the way you expect. PDF is a large format and real documents use corners of it that no browser engine implements completely.
Check every result before you rely on it, and keep your original — which is easy here, because nothing overwrites it. Where a tool can state the limits of what it did, it does: the methodology page lists what each engine supports, compression names the switches a document could not benefit from, and OCR reports how confidently it read each page.
What is being offered here?
A set of PDF tools that run inside your own browser, free of charge and without an account. There is no paid tier, no quota and no queue. The service is offered as it stands at the moment you use it, and we may add tools, change how one behaves, or withdraw one — if a tool disappears, its address will say so rather than silently redirect you somewhere else.
What may I not use it for?
Anything unlawful where you are, and anything that attacks the service or the people using it: no attempt to break, overload or reverse the site, no automated hammering of it as if it were an API, and no use of the tools to strip protection from a document you have no right to open. Removing a password you own is ordinary work; removing one you do not is not.
What are you liable for?
For what the law where you are does not let us exclude, and no further. Because the work happens on your device and we never hold your document, we cannot lose it, leak it or corrupt a copy we do not have — and equally we cannot recover one for you. Losses that follow from relying on an unchecked result are yours to avoid by checking it.
Can these terms change?
Yes, and the date at the top of this page is when they were last checked. A change applies from the moment it is published; it is never applied backwards to something you already did. If a change is substantive rather than a correction, this page will say what changed.
Whose law applies, and who do I write to?
The law of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where "IH Tech" SP is registered, without displacing any consumer protection you have where you live. Write through the contact form or to the address on the imprint; both reach a person.
